Welcome to my Field Journal…
Here you’ll find some of my projects, presentations, and notes from my adventures out and about “in the field” near and far. A glimpse into my geoscience story, one entry at a time.
GSA Connects Conference - San Antonio, TX - 2025
Saw the Alamo, PeeWee’s bike, the riverwalk, and a TON of bats with @the_billyjack 🦇
Grateful for another opportunity to present our summer research to the greater community at GSA.

Yet another great @theapcg Conference! Although I wasn’t able to attend the whole conference this year, it was still great connecting with everyone and getting another opportunity to chat about my summer research.
I also really enjoyed the JPL tour where I got to see a model of the Magellan spacecraft that is responsible for the SAR mosaic of Venus, the foundation of my summer research 😱
Can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year’s conference 🗺️

It feels pretty surreal to be here, especially right now. BUT I’m here, so I’m going to make the most of it and enjoy my internship experience (which I’m very excited for).
Walked ~ 6 miles in this heat, melting the entire way from the White House to the Washington Monument, to the National Air and Space Museum, to the Capitol building and all the way back. 🥵

Last night, I walked across the stage at Pasadena City College, closing one chapter and opening the next. 🎓
Given everything happening in our city and country right now, it meant so much to stand shoulder to shoulder with my @pcclancer community celebrating, supporting one another, and showing up with strength, pride, and resilience.
This journey has been anything but short or simple, and I’m so grateful for every twist along the way. To every professor, administration staff, fellow student, tutee, friend, and family member: a heartfelt thank you. You’ve shaped the person I’ve become, and I carry your impact with me.
PCC gave me more than an education, it gave me lessons, memories, purpose, and most of all, opportunity. It’s a bittersweet goodbye, but this experience was always meant to help me grow beyond.
Here’s to the next chapter. 💫

Still feeling overwhelmed (in the best way) after a very full Friday. I had the chance to present my research poster at the Natural Sciences Department Poster Session at PCC (thought it was just a showcase!) and ended up being one of four students recognized. I was also honored to receive the Honors Extraordinaire award in Geography alongside my brilliant peer, Florisa.
That same evening, I presented again at the @lageographicalsociety Symposium, this time as the newly appointed Student Representative… and to my complete surprise, my poster was recognized again. The project explores the intersection of seismic hazards and socioeconomic vulnerability, and it’s brought me nothing but good luck every time I’ve shared it. I’m truly humbled by the recognition and grateful for these opportunities as I close out my final semester at PCC.
I postponed posting about this out of respect for the events unfolding in LA over the weekend, which are still ongoing, and my heart remains heavy. Amidst everything, I’m holding deep gratitude for the support of my community and for spaces that amplify science, education, and connection. I’m also reflecting on the importance of supporting our wider LA community, especially those who’ve built and sustained this beautifully diverse city. Proud to be an Angeleno as always.

Someone I love and don’t typically spend a lot of time in nature with AND we almost always forget to snap pictures cause we’re living in the moment when together, is my bestie @ticabonita28 - I’m so glad we’re working on changing that this year and I cannot wait to show you all the amazing places I love 🫶🏼

Grains through time…
I share smaller, more frequent updates on my Instagram page called @you.rock.rock - here you can follow my adventures out in the field, near and far; for school and for fun. You will also find that I post quite frequently about the wonderful individuals I meet along the way and the community we’ve created through our shared love for Adventure, Exploration, and Geoscience.
